Viruses don’t have Elections, but Politicians do

Few would argue against the fact that the Coronavirus has infiltrated every aspect of our lives. For politicians however, COVID-19 has been used either as a rug under which they have swept their failures, or as “biological warfare” (pun intended) used against their political opponents. This couldn’t be any more true for the upcoming U.S. elections.

During the first three years of Donald Trump’s presidency, the U.S. economy was growing at (as he would say) fantastic rates; experiencing all time stock market highs with record low unemployment levels. The left tried, with every fibre of their being, to impeach the president with claims related to abuse of power. First came the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. election, and into the Trump campaign’s ties to Russia. Then came accusations of the president seeking help from (a.k.a pressuring) the Ukrainian government to dig up some dirt on Joe Biden, the leader of the Democratic Party and contender for the 2020 presidential elections. When these attempts failed, lo and behold, the Coronavirus came sweeping in!

Global Market Crash and the Aftermath

Global markets crashed in March 2020 as uncertainty about COVID-19 fuelled extreme stock sell-offs. Not long after, governments of developed countries (including the U.S.)…
